Microban Global Textiles 2019: A Year in Review

It's been a good year and here is why...

Groundbreaking technology launches, prestigious awards and new partnerships with leading home textile, apparel and footwear brands around the world—take a look back at the places we’ve gone and been in 2019.

Odor Control for Cotton Applications: Solidifying our stance as the global leader of odor control in textiles, Microban said goodbye to sock stink in 2019 by launching Scentry Revive, the new-to-market odor capture and neutralizer platform permeating sock yarns to form a protective barrier to fight against the build-up of malodor. The North American launch took place at Outdoor Retailer in June.

We also launched a new AEGIS technology, one of the first quat saline based antimicrobial odor control solutions that can be pad applied on woven and knitted cotton home textiles and garments such as sheets, dish towels and denim.

In honor of saying goodbye to stink in 2019, Microban threw a farewell tour for Stinky the Sock. Watch his sockumentary on his journey from household staple to forgotten foe.

Microban collects 673 pairs of socks, more than 100 hygiene kits for Hope Vibes: Microban collected 673 pairs of socks and more than 100 hygiene kits for Hope Vibes, a non-profit dedicated to bringing awareness, hope and real solutions to the homeless epidemic in the Charlotte-Metrolina region by providing dignity through personal hygiene products, mobiles laundry/shower vehicles and conversation.

The partnership started in early 2019 when Microban learned that socks are the number one requested item in homeless shelters, sometimes over food.

After collecting all 673 socks and more than 100 hygiene kits, the Microban and the Hope Vibes team visited local shelters in uptown Charlotte to give out the socks, healthy refreshments and hygiene necessities.
