Microban International to Present at Conference on Sustainable Finishing of Textiles

Sep 15, 2021

Microban is presenting on sustainable alternatives for odor control at the Conference on Sustainable Finishing of Textiles.

Microban International, the global leader in antimicrobial technologies and odor control solutions, will be presenting at the Conference on Sustainable Finishing of Textiles, hosted by Technical Textiles International.

Feedback from World Congress on Textile Coatings (WCTC) in February 2021 highlighted that the textiles industry is committed to ensuring a sustainable future, with action and investment in material technology and machinery to reduce environmental impact. To address this industry-wide movement, Technical Textiles is hosting a special edition of WCTC: Sustainable Finishing of Textiles, September 30 – October 1, and October 7. The conference is designed to explore materials, processes and machinery that can help dyers, finishers, coaters, and laminators contribute to sustainability initiatives worldwide.

Microban International’s Senior Formulation Chemist for Textile and Liquid Formulations, Lance Li, will be presenting during Session 1: Sustainable Chemistry on September 30. Microban has developed a number of technical solutions for textiles that adhere to bluesign® and OEKO-TEX® guidelines, including Scentry® and Scentry Revive®. In trial studies, both technologies showed long-lasting and powerful odor control performance with reduced or no toxicity.
