1. When did you join Microban?
I joined Microban in May of 2025.
2. How did you come to work here?
I spent the last eight years in a combined role that included Project Management, Sales Support, and Marketing and Communications. Most of this time was with Freudenberg Filtration Technologies. I was responsible for all Marketing and Communications activities for the Residential and Commercial Filtration division.
3. What do you do at Microban?
My current role at Microban is Brand & Marketing Communications Manager for North America.
4. What's your favorite aspect of the job?
I would say that getting to learn about and know the partners and people at the companies we work with is a valuable experience. They all have their own unique products they offer and unique challenges that each face, and just getting to learn about the companies and people, I feel, is enjoyable.
5. What's your go-to local lunch spot in your city?
My favorite local hotspot for lunch in Hickory, NC is Café Gouda. Unique menu and all made fresh to order.
6. What’s a podcast, book, or article you’ve enjoyed recently, and why would you recommend it?
Very Good Copy by Eddie Shleyner. The reason being it was a good look at the psychology behind copywriting to persuade people to action and learn to think from the eyes of the audience and what they would like to read and feel compared to what the writer thinks the audience would like to see.
7. Where in the world is your “happy place”?
That’s a tough one. I have a few places that I could name but depending on my mood and how I am feeling that day or week it could change between a few different places.
8. What’s a real-world lesson you had to learn outside the classroom?
Being ready to embrace change. I feel like most college lessons are based on everything going perfectly to plan all the time. They don’t teach learning how to account and plan for the opposite of your plan to take place.
9. What’s the most memorable reason you’ve recently set your “Out of Office” message?
I recently went on a golf trip to Pinehurst in North Carolina with some family members that live in the area.
10. If you were heading to space tomorrow, what would your dream “last meal” on Earth be—starter, main, and dessert?
Honestly for me it would be very basic. Just a typical salad as a starter with a steak and some form of potatoes as the main dish. For desert it could be anything made with chocolate and peanut butter. Nothing overwhelming, I would rather fully enjoy my final meal before departing for space than have something over the top that I may not.
