Analytical Chemistry Lab

Our Analytical Chemistry Lab is one of the industry’s leading analytical antimicrobial test labs, utilizing state-of-the art analytical equipment to assist our polymer, ceramic and formulation chemists during the development and process. Our chemists administer thorough testing and additive level comparisons in order to guarantee ideal antimicrobial integration.

When performing an analytical antimicrobial test, our chemists begin by extracting antimicrobial additives from product samples in our analytical test labs. We utilize high temperatures and pressures during a process called microwave extraction. Various analytical lab tools then analyze the product sample in order to quantify levels of present antimicrobial additives. 

Machines such as the High Pressure Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Liquid Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (LCMS), Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AA) are valuable pieces to every product’s quantifiable additive puzzle.

After determining a sample’s antimicrobial loading level, our chemists compare the results to the target loading level, benchmarking it against the microbiology efficacy results. Evaluating these types of analytical and antimicrobial test results verify the optimized loading levels for any given application.

Microbiology Lab

Mold Testing Lab

The Mold Testing Lab performs a wide range of industry standard mold lab testing methods to validate antifungal efficacy. Samples can be evaluated utilizing nutrient challenge protocols or in the fungal chamber, which simulates environmental conditions.

Textiles & Formulations Lab 

Our Textiles & Formulations Lab ensures satisfactory, compatible solutions for your fabrics, application methods and other textile auxiliaries. Testing processes evaluate textile materials such as polyester, nylon, cotton, rayon, cotton/polyester blends, acrylic and natural fibers for a stronger approach to inhibiting product deterioration. Our textile chemists have a comprehensive knowledge of fiber production, textile dyeing and finishing, formulation of spin finishes and textile auxiliaries.

Our on-site development tools enable us to simulate the application of antimicrobials to textiles via pad exhaust and spray methods. And our lab-scale drying equipment allows fabric treatments to be cured under precisely controlled conditions, measuring both on-fabric temperatures and dwell times during the process.
