How Microbes Grow
Microbes 101.
High humidity levels and an ample food source make kitchen and bathroom countertops hot spots for the growth of bacteria. And only when they’ve multiplied to hundreds of thousands, can they be seen by the naked eye.
Using a confocal microscope, below is time lapse photography of bacteria growth on an unprotected surface and a surface infused with Microban antimicrobial protection, over a 24 hour period.
After viewing these images, you can see how the Microban technology begins to work immediately, disrupting key bacterial cell functions so that the bacteria are unable to grow or reproduce on the surface. While on the unprotected surface, bacteria quickly multiply.
